Equip Yourself with Joy and Confidence

Equip yourself with joy and confidence:

"Strange as it may seem, we choose joy. Two people can be part of the same event, but one may choose to live it quite differently from the other. One may choose to trust that what happened, painful as it may be, holds a promise. The other may choose despair and be destroyed by it. What makes us human is precisely this freedom of choice."
~Henri Nouwen, Bread for the Journey

Your body language shapes who you are. A confident person sits or stands in a way that takes up space (think of Superman or Wonderwoman with hands on hips and feet wide apart). Standing or sitting, that person is open. Standing or sitting hunched and drawn in drains confidence. So, before an important event, spend two minutes alone taking up space to gain confidence and be ready to engage. If need be, "Fake it until you make it."
