Anigurumi Character Comes Home
Our daughter has become a big fan of anigurumi, the Japanese art of knitting or crocheting small creatures and characters that started to get noticed in the US in 2003 and was a big hit by 2006. Patterns proliferate online, with a great many pop culture characters getting patterns of their own. This Father's Day, I was bestowed with the following character from an odd little animated show out a few years back. The first person to guess who this character is and from what series will win a digital No award by providing the right answer in the comments below. I've enjoyed watching our daughter's enthusiasm for this art form and the complexity of her characters grow as the months go by. Who knows what the future will bring ... although I'll be asking for an anigurumi nativity set for kid's sermons. I'll buy the patterns if she'll do her magic.
