Confidence Integral to Joy: Good News from Christianity

The subject of joy is integral to my life ... my life in faith and my life in general. I've written a lot about joy and will continue to do so. This is an important passage from a powerful book I highly recommend.

Joy ... is what we'll experience when we are welcomed into heaven. We may even laugh for joy when we meet God. Joy, a characteristic of those close to God, is a sign of not only a confidence in God, but also, as we will see in the Jewish and Christian Scriptures, gratitude for God's blessings. As the Jesuit priest Pierre Teilhard de Chardin said, "Joy is the most infallible sign of the presence of God."
