Play Dots on iPad and iPhone

The game maker Betaworks One has come out with a distracting hit: Dots. It's a simple video game for the iPad and iPhone, requiring iOS 5 to work. The game is simplicity itself. You connect the dots of the same color. You can connect them vertically, horizontally, zigzagging across the screen, or in squares and rectangles (which rack up the highest points). Musical tones accompany each successful connection, with larger connections receiving higher, longer, more positive tones. You have 60 seconds to do your best.

Be aware that one play through is never enough. If you get hooked, you can easily play enough to drain your device's battery entirely.

The game is free and available through the Apps Store. For $1.99 you can get a version with no timer.

Enjoy the digital distraction ...
