Adventures in Fitness 22: One Guy's Attempt to Knock the Rust Off: Bring a Book!!!

I admit, this one should have been more obvious. But with the gym having a large bank of flat screens up front and headphone jacks on most of the equipment, it was hard to think go going old school.

However, if you're going to spend a lot of time at the gym on something like the elliptical or the stationary bike or maybe even the treadmill, bring a book. I tried it for the first time today and it was a revelation. At first it was a little challenging focusing on the page while working out on the elliptical. However, soon enough I was engrossed in the story and the time on the machine flew past. It was truly amazing. It is easy to remain on the machine longer as you are focused on something entirely other than your own sweating body and the random complaints it is throwing at you to try to get this madness to stop. Keep reading and working out. You'll go longer and enjoy it more.

That's this week's revelation. Who knows what comes next?
