Searching for Life on Mars

Here you'll find a very good explanation about the search for life on Mars. Three hypotheses are being tested by the Curiosity rover. Oh yes, and as of today, the Curiosity team thinks the shiny bit of metallic something found beside the rover is a piece of benign plastic (perhaps tape around wires) that came loose during the scooping and shaking of Curiosity's first load of soil. That's a very different hypothesis about life on Mars that the team is ruling out ... although not completely just yet.

Thanks to my friends at Universe Today for bringing this video to my attention. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to check in on this morning's docking of the Dragon capsule with the International Space Station (occurring between 7:00 and 7:30 AM if all has gone well overnight).
